Welcome to the official website of Museum Professionals of Colour!

Museum Professionals of Colour (MPOC) is a University of Toronto-based student association aimed at addressing the lack of racial diversity and representation within the Faculty of Information’s Master of Museum Studies (MMSt) program. We endeavour to make our own group, the MMSt program, and the greater field of museology, more diverse, equitable, accessible, and inclusive. In the near future, MPOC hopes to  create greater networks of museum professionals of colour, who may further impart their knowledge and experiences to the next generation of racialized professionals entering the arts and culture sector.

We wish to acknowledge the land upon which we are privileged to live, work, and learn. The land upon which the University of Toronto operates has been the ancestral home of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River since time immemorial. This land is subject to the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which dictates that we must all share and care for the land and its resources. We are grateful for the life-giving land on Turtle Island and around the world, as well as all its protectors and stewards past, present, and future.
